there is a destiny that makes us brothers.

none goes his way alone,

that which we send into the lives of others,

comes back into our own.

One of the basic precepts of the Loyal Order of Moose is that "no institution that labors for self and self alone can remain great and mighty, and serve posterity." Therefore, the two highest degrees conferred on members of the Moose Fraternity are bestowed as a reward for devotion and service to the philanthropic programs of the Order. These are the Fellowship and the Pilgrim Degree of Merit.

When a man is enrolled into the Loyal Order of Moose, he automatically becomes a member of the first degree.  A good standing member becomes eligible for advancement to the Second Degree, ( The Moose Legion Degree of Service ), after he has completed one year of membership and has sponsored one member into the lodge OR has completed six months of membership and sponsored three members in to the lodge.

The official logo of the Council of Higher Degrees is the standing Moose overlaid on six (6) interlocking rings representing the degrees of the Order.  The color of the rings denote the degrees: Pilgrim is gold; Fellowship is French blue, Moose Legion is purple, College of Regents is black, Academy of Friendship is blue and the Star Recorder is green.

The Council of Higher Degrees consists of:

Members of the Pilgrim Degree of Merit, the Fellowship Degree of Honor, the Moose Legion Degree of Service, the College of Regents, the Academy of Friendship and the Star Recorders.

"May we set an example of Fraternal Service

worthy of emulation by all our brothers"

The third degree within the Loyal Order of Moose is the Fellowship Degree of Honor. These men have been recognized by their peers for the service to the Fraternity and Lodge. In order to become a Fellow one must be selected by the other Fellow Degree holders within the Lodge as worthy of bearing this honor. Using a set of standard criteria, which includes length of service, participation, and aiding in membership growth, the list of eligible candidates is narrowed down to those who truly deserve to advance to the Third Degree. Distinguished by wearing the French Blue Blazer, these men are now eligible to vote on other future Fellow candidates and are people who other members turn to for advice about the Fraternity.

The fourth and highest degree within the Loyal Order of Moose is the Pilgrim Degree of Merit. The holder of this degree, which is signified by the Gold Blazer, is definitely a leader within their community. Only a certain number of new Pilgrims are selected each year. The criteria for this prestigious honor is lengthy and it may take many years to achieve. Once the Moose Member is selected, he must travel to Mooseheart, and have this honor bestowed upon him in the House of God.

While the men members of the order seek out the Pilgrim Degree of Merit.  Co-Workers in the Women of the Moose are challenged to obtain the College of Regents Degree. This can only be done by serving the order in many capacities over several years including aiding in new membership growth.  They must also serve as a committee chairman for one year in which she must complete a successful project, sponsor at least two new members and the chapter earns the Award of Achievement.  With this accomplishment, the Co- Worker earns her Academy of Friendship Degree.  Next, she must run for and hold an elected Office (Senior Regent and Jr. Graduate Regent) sponsor at least two more new members each year (2 as Senior Regent, 2 as Jr. Graduate Regent) and the chapter must earn the Award of Achievement in one of those two years.  After completing this, she must stay active for one year by sponsoring at least two more members and has the option of running for and holding Office again as Secretary/Treasurer or Recorder.  She may then attend a Moose International Convention the following year to receive her Cap and Gown.  A Collegian Night will be held in the month of September following the International Convention by her Chapter to recognize her accomplishment.  The following Co-Workers of Chapter #1415 have achieved this honor.  They are listed by year of bestowment.
